Family "Sticking together Frame"
I saw this on Pinterest the other day (I did not pin it and now I can't find it - I am sorry I can't give credit where credit is due but this was not my idea it came from Pinterest) and thought it was such a cute idea and a great momento. It would be a great frame to display and at the same time a great way to keep my baby girl's handprint.
Materials Needed:
Scrapbooking paper (any color)
Picture Frame
Scissors
Glue or Tape
Stickers (if you don't have any handy you can just use markers to print the words)
Trace out every family member's handprint. At my house that included my husband's hand, my daughter's hand and mine. I thought maybe I could include our dog Riley's paw print (Riley is a red female doberman) but that would be a great task. LOL.
I cut out the handprints and arranged them on a picture frame and added a small piece of tape or glue to hold each handprint in place. I decided to write the date done on each handprint just as a memory for me as to when I did this frame. It would imagine adding the date somewhere on the frame would be a good idea too. I then cut out a small square of scrapbook paper, I used this to add the sticker word "Family" on it. Closed the picture frame and done!
This Pinterest idea turned out to be pretty cool and easy to do. I was thinking that maybe I could recreate the "Family" frame next year and the following year. Just to keep a memento of our hands each year.
Jell-O Fruit SnacksMy daughter loves fruit snacks. The other day while browsing Pinterest, I came across this easy and quick recipe on how to create your own homemade healthy fruit snacks. The steps to do the fruit snacks were super easy and quick to do, so I decided to make some. I gathered all the ingredients and was ready to go.
I measured out the water in a sauce pan and sprinkled both Gelatine pouches and the Jell-O in the water. I turned on the heat to medium and stirred until it began to boil and all the gelatin mixture had dissolved. The mix was a little thick and a little sticky and it turned out to be a lot less than I expected. Once the mixture had completely dissolved, I poured it back into my measuring cup and added it a little at a time to my ice trays. Once finished, I let the trays sit out on the counter for about 20 minutes and voila, I had my very own homemade fruit snacks! I turned the trays inside out and the snacks popped out, it was super easy to take them out of the molds (I used plastic/silicone ice trays that I got in the dollar section at Target).
Next, came the fun part, Eat them! Of course, I had to try them out first before giving them to my baby girl. Mmmmm......
Recipe Reviews:
Honestly, I am not a big fan of fruit snacks so I really did not have much to compare it to, but here goes. The fruit snacks were quick and easy to make. They looked really cute and perfectly shaped (my ice trays are flower shaped and star shaped). The recipe involved using the stove so, my daughter could really not help out only in the taking the snacks out of the ice trays. Maybe when she grows up a little. The snacks were a little tough to bite into and to chew. Plus, there wasn't much flavor to them. Maybe next time I may substitute fruit juice instead of water. I am not sure if I will be making these again. I will have to wait and see the review from my daughter. Is she likes them then we are good, if not then we go back to the drawing board and to buying more fruit snacks at the grocery store.

2 pouches of Unflavored Gelatine - 4 come in each box
1/3 cup water
Ice trays or candy molds
